[Application of x-rays in determining hidden pest attack on grain products]

The objective of X-ray diagnostic of stored seed and commercial grain is early detection of pest infestation. Depending on X-rayed material consistency determined X. raying intensity in kilovolts, exposition time in minutes with X-rays is : for wheat and barley -32kV/2 minutes, for soybean and corn - 35kV/2.5 minutes, for beans and peas -40kV/3 minutes, for linseed - 25kV/0.5 minutes, for apples and pears - 90kV/3 minutes. X-raying may be used in determining the soundness of seed material germs and planting material for import and export.
