The equilibrium moisture content of wood under sheltered outdoor conditions in Ghana
1985
Ofori, J. (Forest Products Research Inst., Kumasi (Ghana))
The necessity for seasoning wood to at least a mean equilibrium moisture content for applications requiring fine tolerances is discussed. The equilibrium moisture content (e.m.c.) of wood in Ghana for the 21 different towns mentioned in the study was determined using the yearly mean monthly dry bulb temperature and the relative humidities. The annual e.m.c. figures ranged from a low 9.8 (in Navrongo) to a high 18.3 (in Takoradi)
