[Evaluation methods of vegetable residues production]

The evaluation of vegetable residues production is previous to any feasibility study on their recovery and utilization for agricultural and energy purposes. The present survey of the Italian and foreign literature on this subject points out the lack of a common evaluation methodology: data reported from different authors frequently disagree and cannot then be compared. Some methodological criteria are here proposed and acceptable mean values of total and recoverable residues production are indicated, referring to main crops in Italian conditions
