Physiological aspects of crop plants resistance to unfavourable conditions caused by acid soils with excess of aluminium

Within the context of the world research in the past 60 years concerning the plant reaction at the toxicity of acid soils with excess of aluminium, the paper makes an analysis of the effects of some fertilization conditions of acid soils at S.C.A.-Albota on the following indices of productivity: foliar surface, ear length, number of fertile flowers in the ear at anthesis, number of grains in the ear at harvesting, accumulation of organic substance in the vegetative parts and in the grain of winter wheat, variety Iulia. It was established that, together with the increase of nitrogen rates from 0 to 120 kg a.i./ha, on a constant background of 80 kg phosphorus a.i./ha, FSI (foliar surface indices) has in1072creased, as well as the accumulation of the total dry substance especially in the grains, the number of fertile flowers in grain at anthesis, and the number of grains per ear at harvesting, respectively.
