This investigation comprised the following soil types: chernozem on loess, chernozem semigley, eutric brown soil, loessed and loessed semigley soil, boggy hypogley and marshy black soil in Baranja (Yugoslavia). The following was found: All soil types belong to slightly acid soils, slightly calcareous soils differently provided with humus, accessible phosphorus and potassium; the carbonate content and pH value of the soils are in a highly positive correlation, accessible potassium content is in negative correlation with the soil pH value and in a positive one with the accessible phosphorus content in soil; soils containing more h0898umus contain less accessible phosphorus and potass
