Variability and correlations among some yield contributing characters in mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek)

Genetic variability and correlation studies in twenty two strains of mungbean revealed and appreciable amount of variability, higher magnitude of heritability and good expected genetic advance for yield, number of pods per plant, 1000 seed weight and plant height. Yield was significantly correlated with number of pods per plant. Days to maturity showed significant but negative correlation with number of pods per plant and seed yield per plant.
