Laboratory studies were conducted to investigate the efficiency of Deraecoris pallens (Reut) as a predator of Bemisia tabaci and Aphis gossypii (26 plus minus 3 deg C, 60 plus minus 5% RH). Results indicated that both preys were equally preferred. The predator survived well and completed its development when fed on either whiteflies or aphis (uncertain stages). The average duration of each of the five nymphal instars of D. pallens was about 2 days on either preys and the whole nymphal instar lasted 7.8 days on whitefly and 9.1 days on aphis respectively. A positive relationship was detected between the predator instar prey consumption
