Different methods of soybean seed storage were evaluated within seven (7) months under Zamboanga del Sur condition [Philippines]. Soybean variety UPL Sy2 at 7%, 10%, and 13.5% moisture content were placed separately in plastic jar, plastic bag and grain sack. Sealed containers stored under five storage environment were: temperature was regulated/controlled environment, room temperature, open environment and in underground. These were comparatively evaluated with farmers' traditional practice of storing seeds. Results after 3 months storage demonstrated that soybean seed at 7% MC stored in plastic bag under controlled environment and in plastic jar placed underground consistently showed the highest percentage germination until its 7th month storage. Storing soybean seeds at 7% MC is one factor to assure its high viability if placed under the right storage environment. Soybean under room temperature in a plastic jar and plastic bag at 7% MC demand the best alternative for small holders at Zamboanga del Sur [Philippines].
