Effect of NPK fertilization level and irrigation on the number and quality of asparagus crowns

Increasing NPK levels slightly improved the crown quality characteristics. The optimum level was between 150 kg/ha and 300 kg/ha NPK at the ratio 2:1:3. Irrigation increased the number of crowns by 10 percent and gross income by 18 percent on the average, but in dry warm season - 22 percent and 57 percent, resp. Number of storage roots per crown was influenced only by fertilization level, whereas number of buds - neither by fertilization level nor by irrigation
