The claws were taken from Lowland Black-and-White, Holstein-Friesian and Jersey x Simmental x Black-and-White bulls, slaughtered at body weight of 450 kg. The largest claws were found in the Holstein-Friesian bulls and the smallest - in crossbreds. The number of tubules in the sole horn was lower by about 40% than in the wall horn. The reciprocal relationship between the number of tubules and horn abbrasiveness was stated. There was no significant correlation between the horn mineral content and the horn abbrasiveness. The best claw horn quality was found in the threeway-crossbred bulls
