Ammonium acetate (1N) extractable Ca, Mg, and Na in soils at different sugar estates in Jamaica

The Ca levels in soils developed from alluvial deposits and limestone are higher than in ultisols. The average Mg level is 1 meq/100g soil. The Na levels in irrigated soils exceeded the levels in non-irrigated soils; however, high Ca levels reduced the possible ill effects of Na on soil physical conditions
