Traces the incidence of cassava bacterial blight (Xanthomonas campestris pv Manihotis) at Caroni (1975) Ltd. fields. White Stick showed high susceptibility to cassava bacterial blight while Maracas Black Stick exhibited some tolerance to the disease. The recommendations for the control of CBB are outlined. The production of clean planting material, the use of resistant varieties, crop rotation, operational sanitation and proper supervision of all these measures will lead to greater control of the disease
