This paper provides an analysis of causes and consequences of filling up of reservoirs with alluvium and data about filling up of some reservoirs in S.R. Serbia (Yugoslavia). A proposition for the content of regulations which would regulate in a unique way the relationships among planners, designers and users of reservoirs has been made.
