It has been found out that immunofluorescent tests could be used for rapid identification of avian mycoplasmas in various tissues. In the isolates obtained from several domestic bird species (various poultry and pigeons) all 16 of the recognized species from the Mycoplasma genus have been identified. Some of them have been identified for the first time in Yugoslavia. For the identification of the avian mycoplasmas immunoperoxidatic test has been used as well.
