Effect of N, P, K, S, Mn and Zn fertilization to sugarcane [Bangladesh]

An experiment was conducted during 1986-87 season in calcareous flood plain soils of Ishurdi,Bangladesh to study the effect of N, P, K, S, Mn and Zn on the growth and yield of sugarcane. Highest yield (99.21 ton/ha) was obtained at the treatment of N(150), P2O5(120) K20(100) S(30) Mn(5) Zn(8) kg/ha and it was significant. The number of tiller and millable cane were also increased with the increasing rate of fertilizer. The single effects of N upto 150 kg/ha, P upto 120 kg/ha, K upto 100 kg/ha, S upto 30 kg/ha and Zn upto 8 kg/ha were very prominent, but effect of Mn was not very sharp.
