Study of the fertility of two oxisols in the Foumban region averaging soil analysis, leaf analysis and pot trials to correct the Ca/Mg/K cationic ratio [Cameroon]
1989
Tchoffo, E.
A series of tests were carried out to evaluate the fertility of two oxisols in the Foumban region. The soils were analysed and an experiment to correct their Ca/ Mg/ K ratio was carried out and a third soil already tested was then included. The maize yield was then evaluated to determine the relationship between the Ca/ Mg/ K ratio correction and the nutrient uptake (P, Ca, Mg, K) of the maize. Conclusion: for soil fertility, Njila soil Maloure soil Kounded soil; for dry matter yield in the soil, Ca SBE K Mg pH; Ca/ Mg/ K ratio was probably close to the optimum for maize; the concentrations of Ca, Mg and K found in the plants were proportional to those in the soils and the amounts of liming showed similar increases of pH in the pot trials to those perceived from titration curve with lime (CaO)
