Fruits of date palm cultivar Zaglool showed to be more susceptible to Thielaviopsis paradora than cv Samany. in general, wounded fruits were more susceptible than unwounded ones. Peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase activities in extracts of Zaglool dates inoculated with Thielaviopsis Peradoxa were more than in healthy ones. Such enzymes could not be detected in the infected Samany dates. polygalacturonase and cellulase activities in Zaglool dates were higher than in cv. Samany. Both enzymes were more active in acids content increased in infected dates. Total and non-reducing sugars decreased in infected dates compared with healthy ones. Healthy fruits of Samany contained more sugars than Zaglool dates. Phenolic contents were higher in Samany dates than in Zaglool fruits. Total and conjugated phenols decreased in infected dates if compared with healthy ones whereas free phenols increased. As for amino acids content, healthy dates of Zaglool contained more amino acids than Samany fruits. In general amino acids content increased in infected dates.
