Application of different quantities of N-fertilizers on man-made pastures with different time of regenetation

Between 1974 and 1980 the author examined the distribution of different (280-800 kg/ha) and identical (400 kg/ha) N-quantities on intensive, man-made pastures in the grazing periods. When they used different quantities of the fertilizer the highest yield was found with 30-day rotation of 600 kg N/ha. However, the fertilization proved most efficient with 30-day rotation of 300 kg N/ha and 40-day rotation with 250 kg/ha, respectively. Increasing time of regeneration and rising quantity of N in the rotations had beneficial effect on the yield. Crude protein was found higher with shorter time of regenetation and with higher amount of N applied. In summer and autumn rotations the author found greater crude protein content. When they used identical amounts of N-fertilizers 30- and 40 day rotations were found to produce identical yields, however 30-day rotations were of somewhat higher efficiency. Crude protein concentration decreased with increasing time of resting, in spite of greater quantity of N used in the rotation.
