The genus Armillaria in Hungary. 1. Problems of nomenclature and phytopathological properties within the genus

One of the main tasks of forest protection in Hungary is the establishment of causes of oak decline and the working out of protective measures. From the point of view of mycology one of the main chapters is the clearing up of the role of Armillaria fungi. First, however, the problems of nomenclature and systematics have to be solved within the genus. This was the aim of the regular surveys started in 1988. In this year a large amount was collected from the fruiting bodies of Armillaria species, pure cultures were started from the spores. In present article the authors aimed to call attention on the studies and plan to report regularly on their results.
