Effects of animal manure on growth and productivity in corn

This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of animal manure on growth and productivity in corn. Experiment field was treated cattle manure 3,000, 5000Kg/10a and swine 7,500, 10,000Kg/10a at Livestock Experiment Station in Suwon, 1986-1988. Plant and ear height of corn treated with animal manure were higher than those treated with chemical fertilizer, but ear and leaf stem ratio was decreased under manure application. Productivity of pioneer 3160 was increased with manure application, but that of Suwon no. 19 was almost same that of chemical fertilizer applied. Organic matter, PH, N, P, K, and mineral content in soil were markedly increased in the plot treated with manure, As a result, the optimum application amount of manure was 5,000Kg in cattle manure and 7,500Kg in swine manure in 10a
