There is no report on the occurrence of spinous ear tick Otobius megnini, one of the soft tick Family Argasidae in Korea. Authors have collected numerous ticks from the external ear canals of three racing horses in Dooksum Horse Race Center, Korean Association of Equestrian Affairs and the tick specimens were identified as the nymphal stage of Otobius megnini. In this report authors present the first discovery record of the tick and the morphological characteristics of the nymph observed by the scanning electron microscope
