The effects of Lime and phosphate fertilizer on soil available phosphorus and yield of RD23 rice variety grown on Rangsit very Acid and Ongkharak soils [in Thailand]

The treatments receiving no phosphate fertilizer did not give grain yield of rice. Phosphate application only gave higher grain yield (65.37 g./pot) in Onkharak soil than in Rangsit very acid soil (33.70 g/pot). Treatments 4 and 6 (application of phosphate with lime to raise soil pH to 4.5 and 5.5) produced comparable grain yields (84.11 and 89.70 g/pot). But in Rangsit very acid soil, treatment 6 gave higher grain yield (89.86 g/pot) than treatment 4(72.45 g/pot). Treatments receiving phosphate fertilizer showed apparent increases in available phosphorus in both soils.
