This paper describes a new variety of the "Rodnik", two-row winter barley. This is a variety with a short, elastic and firm stalk, resistant to lodging. It belongs to the group of early varieties. It is more resistant to frequent barley diseases (Puccinia hordei, P. graminis, Erisiphe graminis) than the standard "Mursa" variety. The seed yield is better than in the "Mursa" standard variety. The portion of I class seeds is high and comes to 98.88%. Protein content is at the same level as in the "Mursa" standard variety and the "Alpha" variety. The physical and mechanical traits of the grains are good and better than those of the "Mursa" standard variety.
