Investigated water production functions as economical valuable for irrigation systems

The results of this study clearly show that there is a definite functional dependancy between vegetable crop yields, evapotranspiration and the quantity of fertilizer. Irrigation which achieves optimum total evapotranspiration can increase the cabbage yield up to 280%, while in the case of red beets, this increase can be over 300%, if a specific amount of fertilizer is applied at the same time. If the optimum total evapotranspiration is surpassed, the yields of both of the studied varieties decreases.
