The vegetative propagation of Castanea sativa Mill.

This is a study on vegetative propagation of Castanea sativa Mill. by rooting green cuttings. In this experiment green cuttings had taken root quite well. Rooting was average in silicon sand and peat mixtures for 52% of the cuttings which formed 3.6 roots. When silicon sand is used as a substrate, 14% of peak cuttings had taken root and formed 2.7 roots. The greatest number of roots were formed using the following variant of the experiment: a substrate with silicon sand and peat, growth hormone IOK 0.25% (5.0 roots), IMK 1% (4.2 roots) and IMK 2% (4.0 roots).
