An ethnobotanical investigation has been made to identify easily available but efficient herbal materials for various aspects of family welfare/family planning from different sources, viz., from literatures representing "Sastriya" culture and from the tribes representing "Laukik" culture. The information thus collected have been compared with the Ayurvedic, Yunani and modern chemical studies of the concerned plants.
