According to chromosome number and plant characters, a hexaploid cranberry (Vaccinium hagerupii (L. and L.) Ahokas) was discovered for the first time in Changbai Mountains Region of Jilin Province of China. This paper describes the characters of cranberry and appraises its possible use in horticulture
