The birth weight of piglets, the weight after weaning of 30-day-old piglets and average daily gains from birth till weaning was observed separately in the offsprings of nine sires. The highest average weight at birth (with respect to litter size) was recorded in piglets after sires no. 6 - 1.52 kg, no. 4 - 1.447 kg and no. 5 - 1.405 kg, the lowest in offsprings after sires no. 9 - 1.292 kg and no. 7 - 1.304 kg. These differences were highly significant. The differences in weight at weaning (after sire no. 6 - 7.52 kg, no. 4 - 6.67 kg vs. sire no. 7 - 5.51 kg and no. 9 - 5.57 kg) were also highly significant. Differences in weight at weaning were also recorded in the calculated average daily gains during the mentioned period. The best growing ability was observed in piglets after sires no. 6 - 0.199 kg and no. 4 - 0.173 kg in comparison with the growth rate of piglets after sires no. 7 - 0.140 and no. 9 - 0.141.
