1988
Al-Semmak, K.H.A.
The purpose of this work was to study the interaction between soil salinity and potassium as related to plant growth, experiment was conducted on corn var. Neelium, two different soil types (sandy loam and clay loam) were used. Plant samples were analyzed for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium. Soil samples were analyzed for Ec, pH, different forms of K and concentration of the main cations and anion. The main results of this study showed that addition of potassium fertilizer caused an improvement in plant growth under saline conditions, and increase in the dry matter and potassium concentration in plant tissue, also salt tolerance of plants was increased with increasing potassium fertilizer levels
