In a field experiment, the effects of three concentrations (50, 100 and 150 ppm), of each gibberellic acid (GA3) and Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) on growth, yield and quality of onion were studied for two seasons. Application of both GA3 and NAA increased vegetative growth as measured by plant height, leaf length, number of leaves per plant, plant fresh weight and per cent dry matter as compared with control plants. Total yield, average bulb weight and total soluble solid contents were also increased. It is therefore recommended to use either NAA or GA3 at 150 ppm for better vegetative growth, yield and bulb quality
