Discusses the diseases of dairy cattle that affect the yield and quality of milk. Mastitis, milk fever (hypocalcaemia), grass staggers (hypomagnesaemia), ketosis, bloat, reproductive disorders, deficiency diseases, mycotoxic diseases (facial eczema, ryegrass staggers), nitrate toxicity and intestinal parasitism are discussed. Contamination of milk by pesticides and antibiotic residues is also covered
