The influence of genotype, climate, soil, nitrogen and potassium fertilization and herbicide application on the glycoalkaloid content (TGA) in potato tubers of Polish varieties, harvested directly after termination of vegetation, was studied in 1983-85. It was found that the amount of accumulated TGA depends mostly on the genotype and climatic conditions during the growing season; less so on kind of soil
