By the analysis of mitosis in the peripheral blood lymphocyte cell carried out with 4 cows of the black-pied breed, the following has been established: typical diploid chromosome number of the investigated individuals is 2n=60; a certain percentage of tetraploid mitoses is present, 4n=120; diploid chromosome complement consists of 29 autosome pairs of acrocentric or telocentric type and a pair of xx chromosome; x chromosome is large and submetacentric. The obtained data show that it is a normal karyotype, characteristic for this animal species.
