Importance of use of NMR analyzers in breeding of sunflower hybrid with high oil content in seeds

On the basis of long-term experiments, it could be concluded that the present use of NMR analyzer in creating sunflower hybrids with high oil content, rendered significant results. The results in this paper were obtained by investigating the oil content in seeds of 1929 new restorer lines with the use of NMR analyzer. It was also established that 22.3% of the investigated restorer lines were recessively branched. These lines allow the development of hybrids with safe seed production. The line, cms Ha 98 features high field-resistance to Phomopsis, good combining ability for seed oil content and seed yield.
