Clonal selection and the best selected clones of prune cv.Pozegaca

On the basis of the results obtained from the clonal selection of prune cv. Pozegaca, conclusion may be inferred: 1. From the 35 selected clones, five have very good to excellent biological and economic tree and fruit characteristics. 2. The weight of fruits of selected clones amount with clone N 10 24,53 g., clone 11 28,01 g., clone 30 28,20 g., clone 33 26,83 g., and with clone 34 28,48 g. 3. The selected clones of Pozegaca N 10, 11, 30, 33 and 34 have larger fruits than standard cv. Pozegaca (16.4 g), ranging from 49,6% to 73,65%). 4. The stone Weight of selected clones in relation to the stone weight of standard prune cv. Pozegaca (0,80 g) is the same or similar to clone 10 (0,807 g) and clone 33 (0,84 g), but larger with clone 11 (0,98 g), clone 34 (1,00 g) and clone 30 (1,24 g), ranging from 0,180 to 0,242 g. 5. The lenght and thickness of stem of selected clones are the same or similar as with standard cv. Pozegaca. 6. The selected clones (variants) N 10, 11, 30, 33 and 34 will represent a significant contribution to improving the production of prune cv. Pozegaca.
