Metabolic specificities of 4 amino acids, marked with 14C, glycine, alanine, valine and phenylalanine were investigated. The following was established: in rat organism, deposition of 14C was the highest from glycine and phenylalanine, but the distribution into organs was very different and independent of essential and non-essential amino acids; deposition of 14C in the free amino acid pool was the highest from glycine (in skeletal muscle) and alanine (in the brain); uptake of 14C by the proteins was the highest from marked valine and phenylalanine; marked C-atoms from the applied amino acids were also incorporated in glycogen and lipids. Specific quality of metabolic courses in different tissues was very prominent.
