Results of a study on NS maize hybrids in micro and macroexperiments are given in this publication. Macroexperiments were organized in 95 places throughout Yugoslavia. Of the growing conditions, the temperature and quality of rainfall in the vegetation period of maize have been observed. The hybrids belonged to various maturity groups. The grain yield (kg/ha) with 14% moisture, the percentage of grain moisture and the number of picked plants per ha were investigated. The characteristics of the most frequent hybrids sown in 1989 were presented: the length of the vegetation period, given in days, and the necassary plant density when sowing in bad, average and good conditions for growing.
