The performed experiments using certain herbicides selected for stubble grains have shown that in addition to morphogenetic effects -slower rate of root growth, slower shooting, stalk and ear deformity - cytogenetic changes also occur. These changes occur with increased doses in the early phase of development, but also with small doses in the late phenophases. These phenomena are manifested through yield reductions in the year of the treatment by measuring the ear length, a decrease in the number of ears per shoot, a decrease in the number of grains and increased sterility. For seed growing, it is much more important to bring about genetic changes which are expressed by an increased frequency of aberration.
