The paper presents the results of investigations into the quantitative polymorphism of maize genotypes belonging to different maturity groups, using insert of Wx-locus as a radioactive probe. Polymorphism of the maize genome methylation in Wx-locus has been analyzed, as well. It has been established that polymorphism of the nuclear maize genome can be used as a marker for the length of maize vegetation period. Different methylation level of Wx-locus has been established both among inbred lines and in hybrid combinations in relation to the parental components.
