Salt distribution in soils - a comparison study on the influence of irrigation with saline water using furrow and drip irrigation
1988
Kranjac-Berisavljevic, G. (Faculty of Agriculture, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
An analysis of salt accumulation in the soil profile showed that most soluble salts remain on the surface of the soil. By increasing the quantity of water, the salts were moved further from the water source both when using the drip irrigation method, and the furrow irrigation method. In the case of drip irrigation, variations were more pronounced with regard to the quantity of accumulated salts at certain points of the soil profile, while in the case of furrow irrigation, salt distribution was more even. Overirrigation, with 125% of ETM, did not have a significant effect on the accumulation and distribution of soluble salts in the soil profile.
