In vitro six fungicides were tested on two isolates of Pyrenophora graminea (Died.) ito et kurib. and one isolate of Pyrenophora teres (Diel.) drechsler. Both pathogens were isolated from naturally infected barley leaves. Preparations were used in recommended, ten times reduced and ten times enlarged doses. The results show that the mycelium growth of both Pyrenophora species is inhibited by all examined fungicides. The sensitivity of isolates differs according to different fungicides. Sportac 45-EC (prochloraz) and folicur (terbutrazole) are the most effective against both pathogens, follows tild 250-EC (propiconazole) and bayfidan EC-250 (triadimenol). High tolerance is observed for bayleton WP-25 (triadimefon) and bayleton EC-125 (triadimefon + xilol). Isolates grow even in PDA containing ten times larger doses of fungicides than reccomended. Sporulation and germination of spores don't change a lot under the influence of different fungicides.
