Inter-relationships among different traits were determined by simple correlation and path coefficient analysis using 120 segregating lines (M2) derived from the gamma-rays and ethylmethane sulphonate treated seeds of two agronomically important varieties (Beagle "T 937" and DR IRA "T 33") of triticale. The results revealed a very strong positive association of the 100 grain weight, tiller number per plant and seeds per spike with grain yield. The 100 grain weight and tiller number per plant also showed a high direct influence on grain yield. It is therefore, concluded that 100 grain weight and tiller number per plant are the major yield components which should be given due emphasis in selecting high yielding genotypes preferably in early segregating generations in triticale.
