In the comparative study of range of tolerance to root - knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, the F2 population of the Hibiscus sabdariffa x H. cannabinus hybrids were found to be intermediate between their parents; their mean rating being 2.28. On the other hand, high degree of resistance was shown by H. sabdariffa cv. S-24, rating index being 1.6 while H. cannabinus cv C-2 was highly susceptible with rating index of 4.7
