Effect of the feeds' energy content and energy protein ratio on the production and adiposity of broiler chickens

The effect of three starter and rearing concentrates with different composition and nutrient content was examined on sexed Hybro-81 final product daily chickens. The energy content, energy/protein ratio of the fed concentrates significantly influenced the production indices and abdominal fat deposition of broiler chickens. The maximum body mass increase of broiler chickens was secured through the feeding of concentrates with 12.5 MJ/kg metabolizable energy content and energy/protein ratio of 140 and 155 kcal, respectively. The best result of feed conversion was achieved by giving concentrates richer in energy /12.5 MJ/kg/, narrower in energy/protein ratio/ starter 130, rearing 140 kcal o/o/. The abdominal fat deposition was least when concentrate with low /12 MJ/kg/ energy content and narrow energy/protein ratio /130 and 140 kcal o/o, resp./ was fed. Offering feeds with medium 12.5 MJ/kg metabolizable energy content was the more favourable from the standpoint of meat production and feed conversion. Feeding of concentrate with low energy level /12.0 MJ/kg/and narrow energy/protein is advantageous in the interest of adiposity control.
