Future methods of cattle breeding [Hungary]
1990
Horn, A.
Quick adaptation to markets and development of specialized breeds is necessary. It is imperative to established breeds with great milk yield, producing milk with fat and adequate protein content, as well as meat breeds producing single suckler types and representing male lines. It would be important to develop the so-called secondary characteristics, besides the specialized producing capacity in all breeds. The reproduction biologic stability must also be developed. The better the fertility, the more economic will be the meat and milk production. Up-to-date biotechnologic methods /e.g. embryo transfer, etc./ must be applied. There is a need for a more developed progeny testing network.
