A randomized block designed experiment was conducted using seed corm weights of 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 and 150 gram, and using three replications. Results showed that weight of seed corm affected germination time, vegetative growth, yield and tuber quality, significantly. The heavier the corm, the faster it germinated. Increasing in weight of seed corm resulted in increase of plant height, leaf area index, tuber fresh weight, total dry weight, carbohydrate content, and yield per ha. Minimum weight of seed corm to produce high yield and high carbohydrate content was 125 g. The itchy taste of tuber caused by oxalic acid was reduced by soaking the tubers in fresh water for 12 hours before cooking. The best time to harvest was 44 weeks after planting, as it resulted in highest yield and lowest content of oxalic acid
