Effect of planting density, sprinkling irrigation and differentiated fertilization with nitrogen on amount and structure of potato yield

A strict field experiment concerning the above problem was carried out on gray podsolic soil of good rey complex, formed out of very fine sandy loam on gravel underlain with clay using the method of randomized sub-blocks in 4 replications. All of the factors compared appeared to significantly influence the amount of tuber yield. However, the effect of sprinkling irrigation was found to have been the most beneficial, giving within three years, period a mean increase in the tuber yield of 6 t a hectare. As well, the best structure of yield and highest starch content was found with the tubers grown in sprinkled treatments
