Basing on the distribution of the dominating Chironomidae in particular parts of the bottom it was found that at least two generations of these larvae developed in one year in all zones of lake Mutek. Total production of the aeration, this being especially noticeable in the littoral and sublittoral Chronomidae larvae showed the highest production in all parts of the lake bottom. These larvae constituted from 68.2 to 75.3 percent of total zoobenthos production. A discussion is presented of the effect of thermal and oxygen conditions on the annual cycle of benthic organismus
