The objective of Arabian Peninsula Regional Program is to narrow the widening gap between production and demand of ICARDA mandated commodities, particularly wheat and barley, and to develop cooperation in research, and training. The objective of the West Asia Lowland Program is to promote the regional cooperation in research, training, and information dissemination. The Nile Valley Regional Program in which Egypt, the Sudan, and Ethiopia share research and training, is aimed at improving the production of wheat, lentil, chickpea, and faba bean. The North African Regional Program serves Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco to strengthen research and technology transfer to increase barley, food legume, and livestock production.
