The flight activity of onion thrips (Thrips tabaci) in Central Jordan Valley

Onion thrips is considered one of the main economic pests on vegetable crops in Jordan. The present work was carried out to monitor the flight activity of the insect pest in Jordan Valley. Suction traps samples examined weekly between 1986 and 1989 revealed that there were two main flight activity periods. A major period appeared from mid-February to mid-May. A second flight period appeared between mid-November to mid-December. Migration and factors affecting the movement of the pest to adjacent fields were discussed
